ASME@WAU Music Festival is co-organized by American Society of Musical Excellence and Washington Adventist University.

Montgomery County will partner with the American Society of Musical Excellence and Washington Adventist University to hold the ASME@WAU Summer Music Festival, as part of the Montgomery County and Xi’an Sister City Project.

August 4 – 9 @ Washington Adventist University

Early Application Deadline: April 15
Application Deadline Extend: July 10

Piano, Strings, Voice, and Ensemble with world-class faculty from Juilliard School of Music, Manhattan School of Music, Mannes School of Music, New York University, University of Maryland and Washington Adventist University, American Strings Quartet, and NY Phil.

Applicants of all ages are welcome.

Scholarships available for Participants of American Virtuoso Internaional Music Competition (AVIMC)

The final round of the 2024 American Virtuoso International Music Competition will take place on August 10, 2024, immediately following the ASME@WAU Music Festival.

1. All AVIMC participants in 2024 or previous years will waive the ASME@WAU application fee.
2. Winners of AVIMC in 2024 or previous years are eligible to be granded a scholarship of $200.
3.  Participants in the AVIMC Winners Recital are eligible to be awarded a scholarship of $300.
*Note: The above three scholarships cannot be combined simultaneously.

College Transferable Credit Offered

Successful 2022 ASME@WAU Music Festival

The 2022 ASME@WAU Music Festival concluded on July 25, 2022, after a series of enriching sessions focused on improvisation, music theory, and music technology, complemented by lessons, masterclasses, and seminars. Each day concluded with captivating recitals by both faculty members and participants. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants and faculty for their dedication and contributions to the festival. We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to reunite with everyone in the future!
